Happy 2013!

December 31, 2012

Happy 2013 to all of the members of the BLT community:  bloggers, commenters, readers!  We’ve had a thoroughly engaging years of discussion here in 2012, and with a little luck, 2013 will bring more excitement.

I wish all of us success and good health in 2013!

Tonight for me:  Italian food, opera arias, and a late-night theater performance beckon.  But I will also be daydreaming about this cottage (the post is dated 2011, but I just found it yesterday).  Now, a plan to build something like this would be a fine New Year’s Resolution!

I doubt that I have the talent and capability to build a cottage like this, but it is fun to daydream about.

    Theophrastus:
Happy New Year’s to you and all the others here at BLT.
Great pictures of that cottage. I don’t recall seeing it before. It reminded of a drive-in movie my mom and dad took us boys to in the late 1960s called Swiss Family Robinson. I believe it originally came out in 1960 but we saw it later on in the decade. My dad used to fill a brown paper sack with popcorn and off we’d go to the drive-in. (Sadly, it’s no longer there.) All these years later I can still remember the excitement and awe I had when the Robinson family made that treehouse. I so wanted to live in that house. My friends and I attempted to make a treehouse the next year but, uh, it didn’t turn out so well. Fond memories.

    Peace to all.

Hoping that 2013 will bring you the treehouse of your dreams (or, rather, whatever your current desire is!)

I have several treehouses in my backyard, but now that the children are gone, and the dog has died, they have been converted into racoon condominiums. My neighbours are less than thrilled, but t would be very pricey to hire someone to remove them.
