Riddle: what’s the only thing worse than being a W22.02XA?
Answer: being a W22.02XD.
(Explanation: in the new ICD-10 list of medical diagnoses, a W22.02XA is “walked into lamppost, initial encounter.” A W22.02XD is “walked into lamppost, subsequent encounter.” See this searchable list of diagnoses, or see this article.)

That’s hilarious! I can definitely use this at school where we discuss the ins and outs of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual or the DSM IV TR. Apparently DCD 315.4 has to be removed from our red files this fall.
Well, DCD 315.4 was far too broad and non-specific, so it really should be struck. And, what seems like a developmental disorder for a child can easily become a significant competitive advantage to an adult.
However, if you are searching for interesting classifications, may I suggest W61.11XA — injuries relating to macaws (yes — you read that right — the macaw bird)? That is certain is to stop any conversation dead in its tracks.
